Black Android Wallpaper Biography
Black Android Wallpaper icons seems much sharper and pop against this type background. Funny thing is that the phone did not come with one or any type of decent solid colored wallpapers - the selection is very skimp.

To be honest guys, much as i appreciate this interesting read which i quite educative but i must however confess that my phone has WIFI on ALWAYS because i have free WIFI also at work, i browse very often during the day both at home and at work. Though i do not listen to music but i still use the phone considerably during the day. I actually charge my phone daily when i go to bed at nights and by then the level is about 40% left (as i can read in the sticky section about batteries , this is recommended for optimal lithium battery life).
My battery lasts roughly 2½ days if i do not recharge and thats good enough for me.
Maybe i will get 3 or 3½ days if i did some tweaks but for me the difference is not significant enough to deny myself some nice eye candy phone functions , especially since i am always close to a power source, at home work or in my car where i use Navigon as GPS. Besides i am sitting at a PC many hours in a day i might as well plug the usb charging stick in and if everybody who spent time on this forum did the same while they browse , then battery life wont be an issue.
With OLED, does a black or dark wallpaper mean battery life is saved? Or is it the same as LCD where any colour uses the same power.
AMOLED needs a pixel to be powered all the time, unlike LCD where blacks come from turning the pixel off.
So you'll use the same power, no matter the colour. Only Brightness level will have an effect on battery usage.
isnt that the opposite. lcds always need the backlight but since amoleds have individually powered pixels they can turn off to display true blacks.
While an OLED will consume around 40% of the power of an LCD displaying an image which is primarily black, for the majority of images, it will consume 60–80% of the power of an LCD - however it can use over three times as much power to display an image with a white background[53] such as a document or website. This can lead to disappointing real-world battery life in mobile devices.
If the phone screen is on for one hour every day, that is 20k days =~ 55 years, divide by the number of hours you've got your phone screen on every day.. I think you will still be fine.
Google 'black.png' on the phone and use the image off Wikipedia!
It's a tiny file, will save you battery and saves the desktop looking cluttered; I can't stand pictures behind all the icons.
